Several suspects arrested at Festival Village with drugs.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Between Friday evening April 22nd and Saturday April 23rd in the early morning hours a total of 12 persons were arrested by police at the security check point at the entrance of the Festival Village for the possession of illegal drugs. The drugs in question were marihuana, cocaine and XTC-pills. All suspects were taken to the Philipsburg Police Station and brought before the Acting Public Prosecutor. Ten of these suspects were given a fine, one was put into custody for further investigation and one has to do 30 hours of community service. The total amount that was paid in fines for the conditional dismissal is U.S. $ 2746,-. After paying the fine the suspects were released.
The Police Department is again warning the entire community that all persons entering the Festival Village to attend any of the shows will be searched and if caught with any illegal drugs or weapons or any other illegal items they will be arrested and will go the entire process.
