“Dream Big” Educational Scholarship

scholargroup02082015PHILIPSBURG:---- Be The Change Foundation on July 31st presented awards to the winners of the first annual Erika Cannegieter-Smith DREAM BIG Educational Scholarship grant. Family and friends of the winners were in attendance.
The winners were chosen from several applicants. The awards were announced and presented on Friday evening on the boardwalk in front of Blush Boutique/Gelateria Milano. We thank them for allowing us to use their location and facilities.

Jerrisa Wayland was awarded the amount of $1000.000 in order to fund the post graduate IB program she is attending at St. Dominic High School.

Josiah Arnold was awarded $500 .00. He will be taking supplemental classes at St. Dominic in order to satisfy the requirements he needs to continue his educational career in engineering.
Fernando van der Kraats was also awarded $500.00 to help with his schooling. , He will be attending "Amsterdam Hogeschool voor de Kunsten", a school for theatre arts in Holland. His mother Beverly Matthew accepted the award on his behalf, since Fernando is currently in New York with the students of Art Saves Lives.

Each of these students impressed us with their motivation and their dreams of making it big in their chosen fields. We are pleased we can honor the memory of Erika Cannegieter-Smith and help worthy students pursue their educational goals.
