At the recently held Rotary District Conference in Jamaica, numerous awards were presented to the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle for their many Rotary activities during the year 2014-2015.
Included in the list of 10 awards are the "District Governor Award for Excellence", "Club of the Month Diamond Award", "Membership Development Award"and "Outstanding Service Award".
The Club also received the Rotary International Zone 34 Public Image Citation, Area of Focus Silver Award, and certificates of merit in recognition of "Maintaining Outstanding Facebook Page" and their participation in a Club Video contest of which Second Place was received. From the District's Club of the Month Committee, Rotary Mid Isle were the winners of the "Shooting Star Award" for outstanding effort in reporting their activities to District 7020 for the required ten months.
District Governor Paul Brown also presented his Special Recognition Award post humously to Rotarian Ramesh Manek who passed away last month. Rotary Mid Isle president Wayne Wilkie presented this award to the Manek family last Tuesday during the club's dinner meeting.
Rotary Mid Isle has one more project coming up on June 20th, their annual Rotary Youth Table Tennis Tournament. Similar to last year, besides the 18 years and under category, also 18+ adults have a chance to take part. The winners of each category will play an exhibition match. The tournament starts at 10:00 am at the L. B. Scott Sports Auditorium. Further information will be announced later in the media.
