Democratic Party faction in Parliament sends words of caution to the Management and Supervisory Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The faction of the Democratic Party of St. Maarten is awaiting an explanation from the CBCS on the allegations made by the former Prime Minister of Curacao that the CBCS "has bought" certain politicians on St. Maarten.
Just over 2 weeks ago, these serious allegations were made and not countered by the Central Bank of Curacao and St. Maarten (CBCS) or any politician on St. Maarten.
In addition, the allegation by Mr. G. Schotte suggests that the government of St. Maarten has hidden the PWC report on the CBCS.
It was also alleged by Schotte that every 2 weeks St. Maarten "politicians" and Mr. Emsley Tromp, director of the CBCS meet in Miami to discuss current "business deals"(?)
It behooves the St. Maarten Minister of Finance and the St. Maarten members of the Supervisory Board of the CBCS to provide clarity on these allegations.
The DP faction wonders whether these alleged negotiations have something to do with the plans of the Central Bank for a new bank building on St. Maarten. Is that going to be the next billboard of the UP party as is the case with the SMMC.
Is this another project that will be "hi-jacked" for political reasons?
The Democratic Party of St. Maarten cautions the Central Bank management not to allow itself to be used for political purposes, as seemingly was done in the case of the financing for the medical center.
