Body Found in Water behind Chesterfields Restaurant. (UPDATED)

deadbodyatchesterfieldsrestaurant20022013Philipsburg:--- Police and other law enforcement officers were called to Chesterfields Restaurant late Wednesday afternoon after the body of a black male was found in the water behind Chesterfields Restaurant. The boats from the Coast Guard and other law enforcement officials were on the scene recovering the body from the water. Part of the area was closed off by police as they removed the badly decomposed body.
Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson confirmed that the body of a black male was found in the water somewhere in the vicinity of Chesterfields Restaurant. Henson said he did not have the dead mans' identity but what he knew at the time was that the man is from one of the neighboring islands and he came to St. Maarten on one of the boats that bring produce to the island. Henson said the boat is currently anchored at Great Bay. The police spokesman said that the owner and other workers on the boat told the detectives they noticed that the man was acting strangely since Monday and sometime that same day he went missing. Henson said the owner of the boat filed a complaint with the IND department informing them that the man went missing. Currently an investigation into the man's death is underway. Reliable information reaching SMN News states that the man is from the island of St. VIncent.
