Philipsburg:--- Minister of Justice Roland Duncan is currently investigating who authorizes the police and other persons to monitor his movements and to see where and who he is sleeping with. Minister Duncan in an invited comment to SMN News on Friday said he is aware that local people (including police officers) are being used to monitor his movements illegally. He said in order for him to be monitored or followed a judge has to authorize such but based on what he knows thus far no such authorization was granted. The Justice Minister said he is busy investigating the illegal monitoring and in due time he will take the necessary actions that he has to take.
In response to the news that broke in Curacao that a newspaper on St. Maarten picked up and published on Friday regarding the statements made by Dutch Member of Parliament Andre Bosman, Minister Duncan said that Bosman should step away from the immunity he gets when speaking on the floor of Parliament and file a complaint against him with Attorney General of Curacao, St. Maarten, and the BES Dick Piar who is currently in the Netherlands. "I want Bosman to step away from the immunity he has on the floor of Parliament and provide the evidence he has against me and my affiliation with prostitutes and file a complaint against me with the Attorney General. Let them investigate me and if I am found guilty then I will pay for it but if I am found not guilty I will take the necessary actions against Bosman and those that suggested that I am affiliated with prostitutes and brothels. If I have to leave as a Minister I want everyone to know that I can live otherwise. I have other investments and I am a lawyer by profession." Minister Duncan further explained that the two newspapers on St. Maarten that has a lot to publish about him have never contacted him. "The only people that call me for a response on St. Maarten are SMN News and PJD2. The newspaper reporters don't call they write what they hear me saying to other reporters on the radio."
Minister Duncan said the sad thing that is happening on St. Maarten is that some St. Maarteners tend to agree with the Dutch and they will not stand up against the injustice that the new country faces. The Dutch have decided to cut St. Maarten off from the BMS/LCT systems illegally, six million guilders were taken from the Justice Ministry to please the Dutch so that they could approve the 2013 budget and despite all of that St. Maarten is still standing and getting ahead. "The Dutch thinks that they could bring St. Maarten to its knees but so far I am a big boy and I am taking care of my country's business despite what the Dutch is doing to St. Maarten and its people. I want to make clear that I am not looking for anyone's sympathy because I am not one of the step fetching slaves. I will do what needs to be done because right now I am under siege. I want the people and politicians of St. Maarten to know that today it's me (Duncan) tomorrow it is going to another one of us and I want to know how long our people is going to continue and sit back and allow the Dutch to dictate for the new country. This is the time for the people of St. Maarten to act. This whole nonsense about me owning a house of prostitution started with the "Dutch Stooge" who has been writing all sorts of unfounded articles about me."
On another note the Minister of Justice said he intends to take appropriate actions against the Prosecutor's Office for the mess they created with the King Murder investigation. "I don't intend to act in haste against anyone but I will take the necessary actions against those that jeopardized the investigation."
