The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams received a courtesy visit from Rotary district 7020 Governor Vance Lewis on Wednesday. Mr. Lewis was accompanied by James Ferris, District Governor of Anguilla, and various members of the St. Maarten's Rotary Clubs.
Mr. Lewis discussed this year's Rotary International theme "Peace Through Service" with the Prime Minister as well as discussing the various conflict resolution programs the Rotary Clubs will be hosting within the region and on the island this year. Mr. Lewis, as District Governor, is tasked with ensuring that the various clubs on the island execute their mandates. At the beginning of 2012 the President of Rotary International issued a request to all clubs worldwide to uplift the respective communities by building peace through service.
Mr. Lewis also presented the Prime Minister with an honorary Rotarian Pin and expressed his thanks on behalf of the different Rotary Clubs in the region on the support the Prime Minister has shown the service club throughout the years.
