PHILIPSBURG: --- Minister of VROMI Egbert Doran said on Wednesday during the Council of Ministers press briefing that every company that submitted a bid for the collection of solid waste and household garbage has a right to pose questions regarding the bidding process. Doran said a letter was sent to each of the companies that participated in the tender process explaining to them the reasons they were not qualified in obtaining a contract.
The Minister said that the letter clearly states that the companies have a right to ask for more clarifications., the Minister further explaining to them that he believes that while its everyone’s right to file a complaint to the Ombudsman, however, he believes that those that are complaining those that think they are entitled. The Minister said they had persons that were disqualified, some that qualified but were not awarded a contract while those that were awarded contracts.
The Minister said he busy putting the answers together to send to the Ombudsman and the company. He made clear the Ministry was in communication with the bidders prior to the complaints being filed at the Ombudsman.
