Minister of TEATT allows help taxi drivers to work in French Territory.

deweeverataletter16122020PHILIPSBURG:--- Minister of TEATT Ludmilla de Weever on December 15th, 2020 has informed the President of the Airport Taxi Association (ATA) that help taxi drivers are allowed to enter French St. Martin to execute their duties.
While the Minister gave the clearance to ATA this decision is in conflict with the help drivers permit issued by the said Ministry. Based on protests from the French authorities persons that are not Dutch citizens but have obtained a working and residency permit cannot provide bus and taxi services on the French side since they obtained such permits to work on the Dutch side of the island.
The help driver permits clearly indicate that they are not authorized to execute bus and taxi services in the French territory.

Now that the Minister has given clearance for the help drivers holding residency permits to work on the French Territory it is left to be seen if the Minister of TEATT will retract all bus and taxi permits and issue new amended permits to both bus and taxi drivers, it is also left to be seen what measures the French side will take since an agreement have been violated.
