Continuation Plenary Public session of Parliament about decisions regarding the opening of the school year per August 10, 2020, the preparedness of schools and St. Maarten Students abroad and those traveling to The Netherlands in particular.

PHILIPSBURG:---The House of Parliament will sit in a Plenary Public Session on August 24, 2020.

The Public meeting scheduled for Monday at 14.00 hrs. is a continuation of the meeting which was adjourned on August 06, 2020. The meeting will be held in a virtual setting. The Minister of Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports will be in attendance.

The agenda points are:

1. Decisions regarding the opening of the school year 2020/2021 per August 10, 2020, and the preparedness of schools to start the school year.
2. St. Maarten students abroad in general and those traveling to the Netherlands this week in particular (IS/1093/2019-2020 dated August 3, 2020)

This meeting was requested by MP S.A. Wescot-Williams, MP M.D. Gumbs, and MP C.A. Buncamper.

Due to measures taken to mitigate the coronavirus (COVID-19), the House of Parliament is only allowing persons with an appointment to enter the Parliament building.
