St. Maarten Lions Club donates Winter clothing for students in the Netherlands.

lionswinterclothes28102018PHILIPSBURG:---  Sint Maarten: President of the Sint Maarten Lions Club Mrs. Carmen Lake-Reyes along with 1st Vice President Ms. Oralie Boirard and Club Member Ms. Jennifer Johnson made a presentation to Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten Mr. Michael Somersall with two (2) suitcases of used winter coats, shawls and hats to be donated to some of the students from Sint Maarten studying in the Netherlands.

The Ministry will see that these winter items are handed over to the student on behalf of The Sint Maarten Lions Club.

These items were among the suitcases which were presented to the club by Sint Maarten based Copa Airlines in September. The President along with the members understand that our students studying abroad are on tight budgets and felt that these winter items could help serve some students and help keep them warm this winter. Through the Ministry of Education and the Ministry Plenipotentiary who happen to be on the island, it was decided to donate the winter wear to our students in The Netherlands.

The Sint Maarten Lions Club would like to once again thank Copa Airlines through their contribution the club has been able to serve our community locally through a clothing drive and now our students in Nederland’s. We would also like to thank Air France and the Ministry Plenipotentiary for assisting the Club with this small but worthy project.
