Maritsa James Christina to spend another eight days in pretrial detention.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The Court of First Instance has ruled to extend the pre-trial detention of M. J-C. for another 8 days. The extension was granted by the judge also based on the suspicion that M.J-C. embezzled sums of money from the bank account of the Constitutional Court. M. J-C. is suspected of (attempted) fraud and embezzlement in the TRIGGGERFISH investigation.

M.J-C. is suspected of having embezzled sums of money from the bank accounts of the Sint Maarten branch of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba over an extended period of time. The suspect had access to these accounts by means of her position.

The TRIGGERFISH investigation is being executed by the St. Maarten National Detectives with supervision from the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation is in full swing.
