Webster brothers released after massive show of population and roadblocks.

MARIGOT:--- The Gendarmes were forced to release the Webster brothers shortly after midday on Thursday when a large number of people showed up in La Savanah where they were being held.
Truck Drivers were also at the scene and they blocked off the roads.
The events that are currently unfolding began on Monday when the Websters began protesting the sale of their land.
The main road RN7 has been blocked since Monday in the vicinity of GEDIMAT where the protest was taking place.
On Thursday morning hundreds of Gendarmes showed up at the scene in riot gear and removed the excavator and truck that was blocking the free flow of traffic. During the operations, the Gendarmes arrested the brothers namely Randy, Richard, and Rinaldo Webster, and took them to the Gendarmerie in La Savanah.
Two of the brothers Randy and Richard were released together and were welcomed by their supporters at the scene. The Gendarmes just moments ago released Rinaldo who was brought to the scene by the gendarmes.
It is not clear if the brothers were charged and if they will be cleared due to the massive support of the population.

At the scene, Rinaldo who was in tears said tear gas was used on them when they were arrested. The people of St. Martin are demanding that all charges be dropped because of the atrocity the family went through when their land was auctioned off below market price then arrested on Thursday morning.
