MARIGOT:--- The property belonging to Rudy Webster has been sold by auction on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022. The information was provided to the Webster families on Tuesday afternoon. According to Rudy Webster, he said he was told that his property was sold for Euros 557.000.00.
Protestors on the location on Tuesday afternoon were very emotional with how low the sale price was, they said that one of the buildings on the land costs over a million euros. Even more disturbing is that the Webster families that are occupying the land did not get the opportunity to participate in the auction on Tuesday.
Rudy Webster said in an invited comment that he was informed by the Secretary-General of the Prefecture of Saint Martin. Webster was very emotional on Tuesday afternoon after being officially informed of the sale. He said the entire affair has been unjust and he was not granted justice by the judicial system while the local government did not protect his rights in any way shape or form.
The Websters began a protest on Monday morning where they blocked the main road to vehicular traffic on Monday which remained in place on Monday evening and throughout the day on Tuesday. The family that is backed by local residents on St. Martin said they will escalate the protest because what was done to them is unfair because the land that was sold by auction was purchased legally and is registered in their fathers' name.
The process started by a branch of family members that claimed that they too are heirs to the property in Saint Martin and that no one was supposed to sell the property because it is succession land.'So far, no one has said anything about notary office on Saint Martin that conducted the sale of the property.
