Mitte suspects to remain behind bars for the next 8 days.

PHILIPSBURG: The two suspects that have been arrested on Friday morning as the RST and TBO continue their probe in what they believed to be fraud, forgery, and money laundering that took place post-Hurricane Irma will remain in pretrial detention for the next eight days.
Chief Operations Officer Michel Hyman and ATR employee Rene Guishard were arrested after their homes, two businesses, and the home of the IT specialist of PJIAE were searched.
Late Friday after the Prosecutors Office said in a press release that the searches were conducted under the supervision of the investigating magistrate. The release states that the Mitte investigation focused on fraud related to clean-up and repair works carried out at Princess Juliana International Airport after Hurricane Irma.
The “Mitte” investigation is executed RST under the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Taskforce TBO of the Attorney-General’s Office of Curacao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba.
TBO focuses on a specialized approach to combat corruption and subversion of financial and economic crime. Additionally, the team investigates fraud, forgery, and money laundering
