PHILIPSBURG:---The Rotary Club of St. Maarten-Mid Isle for Christmas wanted to treat all the children in foster care to a movie. The four foster homes on St. Maarten are the ‘I Can Foundation’, ‘Hope Outreach’, ‘New Start and Mrs. Webster’s.
On Saturday, December 17th Rotarian Russel Bell organized the collection and transportation of the children and chaperones (89 in total) from all four foster homes to The Caribbean Cinemas to watch the Disney Movie ‘Moana’. Rotarian Brian Greene our greeter for the day welcomed the children and their chaperones. In all 110 children, chaperones, Rotarian members and their families along with Interactors and Rotoractors enjoyed the fun filled afternoon with popcorn and soda.
This event was made possible by Mid Isle Rotarians sponsoring children to see the movie and fines collected at two of their regular Tuesday night meetings along with the cooperation of Caribbean Cinemas.
