Driver in fatal traffic accident arrested, students arrested for MPC Fight.

PHILIPSBURG:--- On Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 at approximately 05.00 p.m. the cyclist with initials B. de H. was struck by a vehicle while riding on the Airport Boulevard and died shortly after at the Sint Maarten Medical Center of the wounds he sustained. The victim was a physical instructor at Milton Peters College and recently transferred from Sint Eustatius to Sint Maarten.
The male driver of the suspect vehicle has been arrested later in the evening on Tuesday and put into custody for further investigation.
The Police Department has learnt that on Wednesday, September 7th all students and staff of Milton Peters College were informed of this tragic accident by the school management.
The Police traffic Department continues to work on this case to determine exactly what the cause of this accident was. As more details become available the media will be informed.
The Police Department extends sincere condolences to his partner and family and friends of the victim.

Update on student involved in fight close to MPC

The Juvenile Department has reported that student that was involved in the fight in the vicinity of Milton Peters College on Tuesday and was struck in his head with a hard object, leaving him with a serious head wound, remains hospitalized. The parents of the victim have filed an official complaint with the Juvenile Department and two suspects with initials A.C. (15) and A.R.M.G. (16) have been arrested thus far. The arrests of more suspects in this investigation are not to be excluded. The condition of the suspect is stable nevertheless, he will have to be flown abroad for further medical treatment. The investigation continues and as more details regarding this case become available the media will be informed.
