Nominations are steadily coming in for the 6th Annual Crystal Pineapple Awards Fundraiser. As mentioned before we have introduced a few new categories, one of the most significant: the Teacher of the Year Awards. Teachers are instrumental in the development of our community. In the words of John F. Kennedy, "Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength of the nation."

"I am sure that there is one teacher who stands out in each of your minds. A mentor, a role model, and in some cases a second parent who guided and motivated you to become the person you are today. Send in your nomination with a picture and motivation as to why this person should win Teacher of the Year award. The winner, as with all categories, will be chosen based on a combination of number of votes casted and the motivation provided by the nominator. Keep in mind we are only accepting 8 nominations for this category; 4 for Elementary School Teacher of the Year, and 4 for Secondary School Teacher of the Year. Nominations close on October 28th.
