Simpson Bay:--- On Saturday August 25th at 1:00am, a lady with initials H.S. arrived at the Simpson Bay police station and reported that she had been robbed of her handbag. She stated that she and a friend were walking from the McDonalds restaurant towards the Royal Palm Hotel when suddenly two cars stopped next to them. An unknown man jumped out of the one of the cars with a knife in his hand. The suspect injured the victim with the knife and pulled her handbag containing personal items away from her. After committing this act he jumped back in the car and drove off. The victim was treated by paramedics at the police station and then transported to the Sint Maarten Medical center for further treatment. The Special Robbery Unit is investigating this case.

This happened right under the police nose? These people don't even fear authority anymore. I hope the police station had at least some working cameras on the outside of the building to pick up the crime. Jesus! You are not safe any where any more.

There is a group of Jamaicans robbing in that area. This is not the first robbery. Police take heed as this is a tourist area. More patrols in this area is needed.

Some time back the minister of justice implemented a visa for jamaicans and guyanese. It seems as if that visa is functioning as an airport pa** for these 2 specific groups. We are flooded with jamaicans and guyanese. These people are not of quality and bring a terror with them. People don't report robberies anymore because it doesn't make send. Camera's in the area would only cause these robbers to mask themselves. The first step in the right direction is to start ma**ive controls in all districts weekly. An uncontrolled society is a volcano waiting to errupt.

@ 2222222222 It is bad enough that we have to jail our own and feed them, but at least they are our own. We don't have to tolerate anybody coming to St. Maarten and making this place a hell hole like back in their countries. What Duncan should have done was give 25% extra time to foreigners who come to St. Maarten with the sole purpose to commit crime. We have foreigners here who are respected and well behaved, they are no problem. The ones causing havoc are the ones we should get rid of immediately. Send them out and keep them out, even if they marry to a lunatic from here or get child with a local in order to stay here. We the tax payers don't have to accept feeding them with our money which can be better spent elsewhere.
