Sint Maarten Senior Citizen Recreation Foundation receives last part of their US 32,000.00 grant from Cooperating Foundations.

sxmseniorcitizenrecreationfoundationreceivespartofgrantfromcooperatingfoundations05062012Board members Dennis Rombly, Violet Lake, and Marva Hanson received a cheque of Naf 14,470.25 to purchase a new fridge, doors, and board games for their senior's activity center in Hope Estate. The St. Maarten Senior Citizen Recreation Foundation has been offering activities and lunch to the elderly for the last 23 years. Their center however was in bad shape and although the Cooperating Foundations of the Dutch Caribbean normally does not fund renovation projects, they willingly stepped in to help the foundation change some windows and electrical system. Because all expenditures of the first 75% of the grant had been accounted for fully, the board members received the last amount to finish the project from president of the Advisory Council of Cooperating Foundations, Angela Dekker, and project adviser Saskia Kliphuis.
