Solemn Plenary Session of Parliament to mark second anniversary of country status October 10; Central Committee planned for October 11.

PHILIPSBURG:--- A solemn plenary session of parliament to mark the second anniversary of the attainment of country status, will take place on October 10.

This meeting of parliament is being convened at the request of Minister of Education, Culture, Youths and Sports Hon. Silveria Jacobs.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday morning at 10:00am in the General Assembly Chamber of the House of Parliament at Wilhelmina Straat #1 in Philipsburg.

Faction leaders will speak for 10 minutes. Members of the Council of Ministers as well as guest speakers will also have the floor.

A public Central Committee meeting of parliament is scheduled for Thursday, October 11 at 2:00pm in the House of Parliament General Assembly Chamber.

The first agenda point is the compilation of names with respect to the permanent committees of parliament.

The second agenda point is the compilation of names for the Parlatino Committees.

Third agenda point is a change to the National Ordinance Security Service.

Both sessions of parliament will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, via Pearl Radio FM 98.1, the audio via the Internet www.pearlfmradio.com, and also via www.sxmparliament.org.
