Member of Parliament George Pantophlet says that he is trying to understand the actions of the President of Parliament Drs. Gracita Arrindell in adjourning the urgent meeting requested by the faction of the National Alliance on Developments at the Post Office of St. Maarten specifically with the employees who have gone on strike. The Prime Minister had given the impression that the documents could be provided immediately after the adjournment. It was just a matter of going to the files or and e-mails and having them copied by the Secretary General who would make them available to Parliament. While the Prime Minister gave a detailed account of what transpired, the documents would have provided the Member of Parliament with the dates as to when the Union was brought into the discussions. Because as he quoted one of the daily newspapers of October 7, 2011 the Union had stated they only knew what was being mentioned in the media by the Prime Minister. The statement by Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams that the Post office was shut down by New Post Netherlands Antilles on Monday October 10th is interpreted by the Member of Parliament as a lock out. This has caused more confusion because what the Member of Parliament needs clarity on was upon whose authorization? In his opinion NPNA could not have taken this drastic step without the permission of its shareholder. What is also important is the financial information as read by the Prime Minister. The Member of Parliament needs to know over what period of time because mention was made of the year 2010 and also to a certain period of the year 2011. What the Member of Parliament was looking for is at least the last 5 years. Because the argument of New Post Netherlands Antilles that they were carrying the loss for St. Maarten Post office for many years has to be based on facts. He said if this is true why is it that it was never brought to the attention of the representatives or the shareholder? Being the businessman that Mr. Franklin Sluis is, it is incomprehensible that he would continue to allow New Post Netherlands Antilles to incur losses of the magnitude they claim to. The Member of Parliament is looking forward to having these documents before the week ends giving him and his colleagues sufficient time to study them before the meeting is reconvened on October 18, next Tuesday. The people of this country already knows what is going on, where our political gangster are concern.
Sarah and her "GOLDEN" speeches. She said that she was the person that paved the way for Country St Maarten. And today she can not aid the post office and the workers.......Shame on her.
Do you think that they (UP/DP) are working in the best interest of the people?
One year and still no progress, makes you wonder.
All Theo is doing is helping himself with too many road projects at the same time. He is the person to blame with the traffic situation in every district........Up/Dp government keep fooling the boys on the block with employment. 70 percent of these road project jobs where given to contractors, who only employ workers that holds a resident and work permit. Some with with BTA permit also found work with these contractors.
When you pa** by these road projects, count the St Maarteners that are working/employed, then the foreigners.
While Rhoda is busy trying to keep the St Maarten boys on the bus, the foreigners are receiving a salary. A salary that will go to their family via Western Union, to better their country.
Rhoda have to send these boys to a trucking school or hire a local contractor to teach them how to use (the too many) heavy equipment on the island.
WHO IS HELPING WHO.

Please let's keep it real. The Government comprises of the UP/DP (old DP). .
You may not be in favour of William Marlin, but, I'm sure that these govermental failures that are happening now, would not be with him in government.
As a matter of fact, I think that W. Marlin should just let things roll as is, and enjoy life.

I totally agree with Mellow, how can someone be blaming William Marlin for what is happening now. If they did not even approve the motion for GEBE to reduce the fuel clause for at least the next 6 months, how in God's name u can blame him for what's happening now. Plse Wise & Wacky, get real, not because u voted for the UP/DP, u have to try and make the NA look bad, you are bias. Plse put the blame where it is and NOT at William only, but ALL, who did not take care of the PSS employees,. These issues have been in the making for YEARS not during NA 13 months reign, but for years. So plse get real and we will go further from there. The responsibility to ensure the jobs of these ppl are now in the hands of UP/DP, but there is a LOT of Nepotism going on,. I know u read the blogg, so now read between the lines..

first of all WM uot of government he getting the blame who in government seem to have jioned the M.I.A ( missing in action ) program all i can think about is the families that after working for genarations at the post office are left in the cold ho will take care of them and their familys. the chamber want a court injunction well the bussiness have their stores to get money from where will the the former postal workers get money to pay GEBE "our reliable energy company" (almost choked) where was chambers then. please stop the blame game and find a solution for the workers and thier families
