Marigot:--- The general public will be given the opportunity to visit EDF power plants this Saturday, October 6, 2012, from 8am to 1pm, for the company's open house.The 5 hour open house will include a bilingual (English and French) guided tour of the facilities, where one will learn about the history of the plants, the production of electricity, the use of modern technologies and the protection of the environment.
The 37 years old power plant located in Galisbay Marigot was first constructed in 1975 with a total of three SEMT PIELSTIC PA4 diesel generators of one mega watt each. Today the location houses two power plants with 12 diesel generators with a total of 45 mega watts installed to meet the growth of the St. Martin population.
The attendees coming to the open house are advised to wear close-up shoes and bring along a valid identification.
The organizers are extending a special invitation to all students who has an interest in an engineering/technical career.
