St. Martin News Network - Application Procedure for Managerial Positions at Public Schools Re-Opened.

Philipsburg:--- Persons that are interested in occupying managerial positions in public schools can apply for the positions that are available. One such position is at the Oranje School confirmed Minister of Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports Silveria Jacobs. The Minister said she re-opened the application process because proper procedures were not followed the first time it was done and several persons that were interested in the positions did not know that the application process was open. "When I was a school manager I did not know of the opening so many persons heard of it through rumors." Minister Jacobs said while the application process has been re-opened the three candidates that already applied will be part of the process when the evaluation is done.
Minister Jacobs said that the government of St. Maarten is currently financing a course for school management and if one is going to talk about return on investments then she is of the opinion that the candidates that are completing these courses should have been given the opportunity to apply for the managerial positions that are available. The Minister said she could not open the process for only two or three persons so she decided to re-open the entire procedure in order to give all persons who are interested and qualified the opportunity to submit their applications to the Department of Education.
