Government to begin Integrity Dilemma Training for Civil Servants.

swescotwilliams31052012In keeping with the overall execution of The Government's Integrity Program (Integrity @ Work - "it starts with me"), an Integrity Dilemma training has been scheduled to take place at the University of St. Martin. This training is in line with the recently approved Integrity Vision for the government of Sint Maarten. The vision statement reads:
The Government of Sint Maarten within the next five years, aspires to a higher level of commitment throughout the entire organization and at every level, towards improving the level of integrity throughout the public service in the execution of its duties as an accountable government, operating in accordance with the integrity policy of Sint Maarten and the principles of good governance.

In doing so:
The Government of Sint Maarten continues to support the development of, a well-trained, honest, reputable, impartial, structured public service, rooted in the principles of integrity, capable of professionally serving and meeting the constitutional needs of the citizens of Sint Maarten.

The Honorable Sarah Wescot Williams, Prime Minister of Sint Maarten has invited all civil servants to the upcoming Integrity Dilemma Training. The mandatory trainings starts on Monday June 4th, 2012 and will end on June 15th, 2012. The Training will be given by Life Transforming Institute (LTI) from Aruba. LTI has been succesfully giving training in leadership, transformation and development and teambuilding in the region since 2008. Mr Ralston Bennet is the director of LTI and is a certified facilitator, trainer, speaker and coach and is associated with powerfull speakers like John Maxwell, Franklin Covey and Dr. Myles Munroe.

The government expects all civil servants to follow the prescribed guidelines (LMA) and make integrity based decisions when faced with a dilemma. The Code of Conduct which forms part of these guidelines will be discussed during the training.
When faced with a dilemma it is not always between a right and a wrong situation. When trained in the area of dilemma management it will enable the civil servant to make more confident, well thought out decisions when it concerns difficult integrity related choices.
After following such a training participants leave with insight in to the meaning of Integrity and what dilemma's are. They will be able to do this by means of using the tools provided during the training. These tools empower and enable the participants to discern an integrity dilemma, know what considerations are important when making an integrity based decision and follow a 6 step question process as a tool that will enable this process. The participant will know what integrity is and will be able to use this tool to guide them when making integrity based decisions.
