I'll say it again. It's election time so people call Mr. Illidge or whoever to improve you neighborhood or improve your personal circumstances. Only 10 more days and then you will not get another opportunity until after 4 years.

Minister of "traffic", "telecom" and "post" had to come to sxm from Curacao (where he did absolutely nothing for SXM) to clean up one district to get votes ??

What happened to the comm. of public works on sxm throughout the past 15 months. He could not handle cleaning up not one district without the minister?

I'm happy to read these blogs as FINALLY people are waking up and seeing the truth. The NA/THEO coalition has done NOTHING for we in DQ and now we cleaning the slob-well and now we helping ICAN foundation. To all I say take their money and vote them OUT. I really taught ya was different patrick but you just like theo, william and them. I not voting NA nor UPP again. Jeffrey or DP all the way.

So what did the DP do for the DQ people? You guys have s**tty roads for years now...not only the last two years. Many neighbor hoods have been neglected for years now DQ, Cay bay, Middle Region and Defiance just to name a few. How long has that hill needed work? People are saying NA and Theo did nothing for DQ, but they should also acknowledge that DP also sat in government really long with Roy in charge of Public Works and did nothing....

and a few days ago I read that a good bit of people were rallying behind some who calls themself "Blank vote" and favored voting blank. While the person made some good points in their comment. Voting blank doesn't solve anything, a party will still get in government. Voting blank is tantamount to doing NOTHING....

WHAT HAS THE NA/HEYLIGER GOVT. DONE FOR ANY OF US?

I keep stressing that the point is that "NA shouted that they could and would do better than DP govt."
How have they shown us that they had made any efforts to correct at least one situation? They made a bigger mess than was already there.

Politicians should stop "trying" to fool us, the voters, when election comes around. NA does not have the "experience", "know how" or even the "insight" of how to get the job done.

What has DP done for us?

Just look around you and ask yourself why people would rather live here in poverty than to return to their own country of origin? Why all those big investors are here? Why our schools are overcrowded? Why some of us are so damn ambitious and successful?

Ask yourself how come I could be applying to a college in Holland, America, Canada or anywhere in the world? How come we have technology equal to all big countries in the world? How am I able to keep up with the fashion trend, car trend, etc. as any big country out there? Why all those HUGE cruise ships porting here on this ltl. rock? How come I can look outside and have enough light to see who standing on the road in front my door?

It might not all be roses and sunshine and SOME mistakes might have been made but PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THERE IS HEAVEN ON THIS EARTH. Please tell me which one of the big, modern, western, countries out there have NO social and economic problems. Floodings after a ltl. rain from poor drainage, poverty, educational problems, youth problems, crime etc. etc. Well ..... only our electricity might be unique and GEBE is run by a NA fool.

DP has shown us that there is much more out there than just bread and butter. They gave you an opportunity to have Lobster and Caviar if you are a hard working, ambitious, open minded person. I know this for a fact because I have lived the DP dream and I will continue to strive for the DP dream.

All I see NA doing is taking us back to being beggars under Holland. All I see NA doing is crying out about all that DP did wrong. All I see NA doing bringing us down. All I see NA doing and are good for is to finalize and take credit for all the projects that DP has started and want to claim they did it.

USE YOUR BRAINS. Could preparations for Country SXM have been achieved in 15 months?????? WAKE UP AND USE YOUR COMMON SENSE, if you have any.

YOU ARE A BUNCH OF UNGRATEFUL GOOD FOR NOTHINGS. Go back to the dark ages, back to "before there was DP", that is what all of you haters deserve.

For me there are no other options this election than either DP or UPP. Klaar is Kees. Take it from one who has been here all the way.

I like the initiative taken, because that place there need to be protected even if it is with a wall and also clean out even idf we put some white swans in.
I think that the D question still is everybody have the rights to their free opinion and freedom to go behind the black curtain and vote for who ever they want. If for you the option is DP or UPP or even NA, nobody should be labelled as ungrateful for making a democratic choice, so the long article from the previous writer is an insult to the integrity of the voters.

Did you guys see those big ugly stupid looking propaganda boards with William Marlin on it smilling like a moron, like he is a wonder child? They are so ugly. For NA supporters to continue shouting that DP has done nothing for this Island? THAT IS WHAT I CONSIDER AN INSULT TO THE INTEGRITY OF THE VOTERS.

NA and its supporters have tried to do nothing else than to make the DP supporters feel like they are committing a crime by supporting the party of THEIR choice. NA continues to claim that they are speaking on behalf of the people. ARE DP SUPPORTERS NOT PEOPLE ALSO?

Just look at all those newly elected person to all high and critical positions lately. ALL NA SUPPORTERS. THAT IS AN INSULT TO THE INTEGRITY OF THE VOTERS. We have absolutely no say in anything anymore. Pure dictatorship going on. THAT IS AN INSULT TO THE INTEGRITY OF THE VOTERS.

Just look at the mess that either UPP and/or DP will have to clean up when NA is ousted out of government after the next election. Why run like chickens without a head and appoint "ONLY" NA persons to high government positions? What kind of democracy will we have? Which one of them will make unbiased decisions if and when NA is out of Government?

NA is making sure that even when they are voted out their people (alliances) will be all over Government to fight whichever political party is next in the EXCO. That is what is making me sick to my stomach. THAT IS MORE THAN AN INSULT TO THE INTEGRITY OF THE VOTERS.

DP has ALWAYS appointed persons, qualified and capable of getting the job done, be you NA, DP, PPA, or whichever other political party supporter. Right now all we have seen is a removal of all other political party supporters and appointment of ONLY NA supporters.

It is time for we, "the supporters" of other political parties to rise up and let our voices be heard and not to be intimidated by NA and their supporters. That my "DAMN" friend IS the INTEGRAL RIGHTS OF ALL VOTERS.

Therefore, anyone, who dare to declare that DP has done NOTHING for this Island are more than insulting and UNGRATEFUL. They are downright ignorant and narrow minded and deserve to be back in the dark ages "before there was DP". Then they should try to achieve ALL that DP has achieved over the years. Yes my "DAMN" friend, only then you will understand why I call all the DP haters UNGRATEFUL !!!!
