They all power hungry and think they are intelligent! This is no surprise to us all. Neither Gibbs nor Zin ka Leu is competent to run the Tourism Office. If Gibbs was good at it he would have stayed away for a year and stated she was working illegally! The minute it was understood that no reasoning could have been reach among the two heads, Gibbs had to call in and extraordinary meeting and dethrone his directrice, stating “incompatibility of personality to engage in any operations”. But his leadership skills are nonexistent. He only head department that are only structure so he can look good. And if he was working for the good of St-Martin and St-Martiners, why leave on the account of one man (former director CLAYSEN) who he denied at the time being his buddy before hiring him. Today CLAYSEN is still on the island and working for Gibbs. While, he abandons the ppl of this country for a year, to support his “friend”. Then opens a sub-department in the Collectivity without the avail of the President of the EPIC, so all this “OK Coral shoot out started with him” and when “baby Daniel” can’t get his way he oversteps any one to do his thing, which is get into a fit. Then when that doesn’t work he cries wolf.
Yes! Zin ka Leu needs to be call to order, cause’ I can’t go to Martinique and head their Tourism Office.
But she hired PICAUT on the account that they were friends. See, this friendship and family hiring thing must stop. Cause it not doing the country any good.

The current of these officials are shameful, disgusting and should be called to order at once. The problem is by whom? since it is always about 'friend-ship' and family-ship' never about professionals working for the people and the island. There is a lack of leadership in the Collectivite, top to bottom and it's only going to get worse if not dealt with. Always the same faces popping at every table, every meeting. SOS!

I have always said that the biggest mistake we made as a people was to put these people in power. their agenda was purely self centered but we have a chance to make a difference come next election and i do hope that we do so in great numbers.

If you want to see how the tourism office works - let's take a look at the port in Marigot where the tenders have to arrive. On the dutch side you have a beautiful cruise ship facility - now I realize they get all the big ships so they need that. Here in Marigot - when people spend BIG money to go on ships like the Azmara - in port today - what do they see? The back of a Subway truck!!! It's a shame and if I was operating one of those "lolos" - I would still be kickin up a fuss that the gov. allows a "sandwich truck" to be the VERY FIRST THING that the tourists see when they arrive. Real cla*sy!!!!

Secondly, where are the Dept of tourism representatives when they have a ship arrive in port? There is NO ONE representing the commune in Marigot to give directions, to keep the car rental and taxis operating in a orderly fashion - absolutely NOTHING!!!

What sense does it make to spend money to open tourism offices in NY and FL when the one here is being run like a bad episode of Abbott & Costello. Really - it is a joke and unfortunately we are at the mercy of a bunch of egomaniacs that are more concerned with making other people look bad than doing their job.

Our government needs to get serious - they were elected to serve us - not screw us over.

We need a set of people to run the island/country. A new generation of politician that will bring something new and hopefully better for the its island and its people. A new set that has no link with the actual politicians (Majority and opposition).
