victimsMarigot--- Friends of the family of murder victims Nejumbia Fleming (Nubby) (21) and her 15 months old daughter Ronelyia Fleming are planning to hold a candlelit march on Tuesday evening in the hope of sending a strong message to young men and women in the community.
Organizer and spokeswoman Aline Choisy said they need to send a message which is to stop the violence and break the silence on domestic violence. The march is scheduled to begin at the residence of the victims on Rue de Hollande St. James to the Waterfront and back. Starting time is 7pm sharp.
Reason behind the march Choisy said is because the elder victim Nejumbia Fleming who was brutally murdered early Thursday morning endured years of domestic violence but she was silent on the matter. The 21 year old woman who was living next door to several family members never discussed the extent of the abuse she received from her boyfriend and baby father Choisy said.

Choisy said she already began talking with some of the Associations on the Dutch side that deals with domestic violence to join the march on Tuesday night. She said she intended to make her plea on the several radio stations on both sides of the island over the weekend and on Monday. Choisy is also planning to create an association in the name of the victim "Association Nejumbia" which would cater to abused women on the French side of the island. She is also calling on women in the community to make contact with her on Tuesday night so that they can have the required amount of members to finalize the paperwork for the Association.

I would love to be a member of the Association. I see there is no contact # for Choisy. Anyone seeing this message and knows how to get in contact with her post a number or an email adress or something. Something drastically needs to be done about all this SILENCE. IT HAS TO STOP, TO MUCH OF OUR YOUNG WOMEN ARE DYING. The killer(s) took the life of 2 women, one already grown, another in her tender age. This is so got to stop. I appeal to everyone to make your voice heard. Each and everyone of us has a relative silently enduring some kind of abuse.

Doing something as a result of this double homicide is a positive step in the right direction. In so doing, these innocent lives will not have been lost in vain. Other women and children suffering from abuse may get the much needed help they need.
We as women need to teach our children that LOVE does not equal VIOLENCE. Teach them from young to recognize this. Teach them to speak up. Back them up and love them unconditionally. We must teach our sons to love and respect women the way the love and respect us.
Much strength to the organizers.
Stop the Violence=Stop the Silence!

I happen to be travelling that very day when the news broke of this unacceptable action on one of our very own young sister. I cried all the way to the airport when I heard her mother on the radio giving a summary what have happened. I want other women to know, no woman is immune to these end results,NOBODY. Things does not get better abuse is abuse. THE TIME IS HERE AND NOW TO JOIN FORCES WITH OTHER WOMEN TO STOP THE VIOLENCE.

Aline I am not on island but thank you for remembering me for this march and thanks for considering me as one to address the participants of this event.

My heart goes out to the family and to every woman who has been suffering from abuse and also to those who is still being abused mentally or physically there is no excuse for abuse. They is no love where there is abuse as much there is no reproach when there is love.

It is not to late to save your life speak out and stand out LETS US WORK TOGETHER TO STOP THE VIOLENCE....
