A Heavy Rainfall Advisory Is In Effect For St. Maarten Until 6:00pm Monday, 29 July 2019.

PHILIPSBURG:---Tonight through Monday evening: Generally cloudy and breezy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Instability and copious amounts of moisture associated with a passing tropical wave will cause cloudiness and showers across the region during the next 24 hours. Some of these showers may be heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, which may cause flooding in low-lying areas as well as rock falls/landslides along hillsides. Residents and users of areas prone to flooding and landslides are advised to be vigilant and/or avoid these areas whenever possible. As a result, a heavy rainfall advisory has been issued for St. Maarten through tomorrow.
Varying concentrations of Saharan dust will continue to produce hazy conditions. Persons with allergies should take the necessary precautions.
Seas are expected remain moderate with wave heights up to 7 feet through the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.
