Marigot:-- A 4.4 earthquake occurred on Monday at 12.28pm. A report from the Observatoire Volcanologique et Sismologique de Guadeloupe − IPGP states that the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.4, at 18.6 North and 62.78 West. The earthquake had a debt of 15 kilometers. The measurements are according to the Richter scale. It was identified as a tectonic origin with the epic center located 19 kilometers North Northeast of St. Barths.

My wife and I were in the airport when the quake struck. We originally thought a truck struck the building . People ran outside,some quite upset! The power went out twice but not much of an inconvience.We are back in chilly NY smilies/sad.gif

It was a light one according to the scale, but we aren't used to earthquakes here so there will be panic

Magnitude: 4.0-4.9
Description: Light
Effects: Noticeable shaking of indoor items, rattling noises. Significant damage unlikely.
Frequency: 6,200 per year (est.)
