scene28092009Hammeau du Pond:--- Relatives of another 20 year old young man identified as Jean-Dany Theodore Richardson are now mourning his sudden death. Richardson was shot dead just around midnight on Sunday close to his home. Richardson is also the boyfriend of the sister of murder victim Rigobert Bertin-Maurice who was killed in Marigot on Thursday night. Already it has been determined that the two killings are not related, even though there are connections with both victims.

According to an eyewithness who spoke to this reporter on the condition of anonymity fearing for her life said a young man dressed in black wearing something around his head walked up to Richardson and asked him for his scooter. She said Richardson who is also her cousin looked at the person and when he saw the person had a gun he jumped off of the scooter. The young woman said it was about six of them sitting on the block which is close to their home and the person who came to Richardson for the scooter walked up to him and shot him in the neck.

“This person acted as if he is a paid killer, he was calm and was not in any hurry when he came for the scooter and to kill Richardson. It was clear that someone probably paid the person to kill Richardson because there was no fight or struggle for the scooter. This is no robbery and the person who did this is no first time killer, he acted like a professional.” The young woman further explained that she hid behind a car when she saw what was taking place, she said she had her 15 year old brother whom she pulled next to her and when he saw what was happening he screamed out “ah-you” twice and the attacker then began looking to see where the voice was coming from. She said she had the feeling if that person had seen where they were hiding he would have killed them also. Asked if she recognized the shooter the young woman said she did not see his face but she had a good look at his build.

After shooting Richardson the shooter rode away with the scooter belonging to Richardson. The young woman said that a jeep carrying Dutch license plate was parked not far away from where the shooting took place. She said when the occupants of the jeep saw the shooter leaving they drove off while the shooter rode behind the jeep as they left the scene.

Asked how she feels about the ordeal the young woman said she believed strongly that the laws have to be changed on the island. She felt that the justice system is too weak

which allows criminals to continue. The young woman said she strongly believes that the death sentence has to be reinstated in the French laws.

Ambulance took too Long says family.

family28092009Another teenager who was at the scene of the crime said she is upset with the amount of time the ambulance took to respond to the scene. She said they called (18) six times and once the phone number was even busy. The young woman said when the ambulance and gendarmes arrived they came slowly. The teenage girl said the ambulance did not have enough oxygen to even assist the victim who eventually died on the scene.

Efforts made to contact the head of the pompier for a comment on this case and the allegations levied against the emergency services proved futile up to press time.

In the meantime, the aunt of Rigobert Bertin Maurice and lawyer Patricia Duzant- Chance was on SOS radio condemning the killings. Rollina Bertin Maurice is asking the public to stop talking negatively about her deceased nephew. She also condemned the media articles that were printed both French Newspapers and the The Daily Herald. In the meantime, the sister of Rigobert Bertin Maurice has been hospitalized due to his sudden death. The young woman also lost her boyfriend at the hands of gunmen on Sunday night which has caused her condition to worsen.

Mandatory military service

this young kids ain't got nothing to do, school do not exist for them, and they need money either to smoke their weed or buy their bling blings.

The best Solution right now is: the government have to stop closing their eyes on this situation, they have to put back the mandatory military service so this kids can spent their time doing something and comeback as real men, i remember when the military service was mandatory this things were not happening cuz they were leaning to be men.

2nd solution: the police (gendarmes) have to be tougher on this kids cuz they are not doing kids stuff anymore, they are acting like men so they should be treated like men.

If the gendarmes sees a group of kids doing nothing on the road at night that group should be separated and if they don't listen make them listen, do not worry about parents complaining cuz if they can't do anything for their childs they law should do it for them.

I say it once, i'll say it twice and i wiil always, violence changed a lot on young people since the mandatory military service was taken off.

St. Maarten/St. Martin it time to turn to the Lord your God. The Bible says "if My people will turn from their wicked ways, humble themselves and PRAY, then will I hear from heaven and heal their land. People this land need help. The youth are being eradicated senselesly. Turn to the Almighty. Where are the churches, the social group, the unions etc. Come on, this is tooooooooooooo much. Today it me - tomorrow will be you. Let us join hands and fix this problem. Let us come together at both borders and do some praying church. This island needs Jesus now more than ever. To the families my thought are with you.

It is very sad and we should pray for our youth. Condolenses to the family of the two young desease teens. The military should be must especially when the youth are just sitting on the block doing nothing. The school system needs to change both french and dutch. Most of te children finish school at a very young age, they can't work or get a sholarship because they are to young so what they do just sit around on idle time. We can't blame the youths all of the time. It's because they don't have anything t do they find something to do i it's the wrong things that tey do. We has parents has to come together and stand up for a better education for our children.

Cousin in shock and mourning

Jean-Dany is my cousin, and to read that the two shootings are not linked makes me believe that the police in St. Martin are pure idiots. I have no faith that my first cousin's murder will be resolved. I am angry and hurt that my uncle who just buried his brother less than 2 weeks ago has to bury his son. The fact that these stupid kids play with life like it's nothing beyond frustrates me. If they want to be real bad men, join the army and fight for a real cause, I bet they wouldn’t last a minute in boot camp or Afghanistan. Something as savage as this destroys a family; there is no reason what so ever for a small island like St. Martin to have such senseless killings.

Blaming the schools and idle time is a cop out. Society as a whole is responsible for the stupid mentality of these kids. The parents that don’t know where there children are and what they are doing, the system that allows them to get away with murder with no real punishment and the children themselves that decide to pick up a gun and kill someone. The moral compa*s of people is sadly out of whack. We were all taught right from wrong and went to church and heard “thou shall not kill”. People fixate on stupid little things that are just distractions rather than put in the time with raising productive members of societies. Jean-Dany wasn’t a part of any gang or running wild and surly did not deserve for his life to end so young. I pray for his father, mother, sisters and brothers and I hope that something positive can come out of such a negative experience. For those of you that prayed for our family I thank you. But if people really want to change things they need to go back to that old saying of it takes a village to raise a child. If you see someone doing wrong call them out don’t turn a blind eye. Tragedies like this can be avoided but to reiterate it takes all aspects of society to beat the cancer of want to be bad men!

the collectivity is responsible ! we must start to admit our goverment is fat, and all those under will feel the sinking of st martin.
if before they gave the young men and women that needed and diserved the jobs this situation would be less hurtfull for the young ones.
thank our goverment who thinks on getting fatter and will get fatter cause we will only fight each other instead of watching what needs to be done.

its a shame for st-martin, but God dont sleep, justice will be, i hope for the people that work in the ambulance that one day, they will be called for a famely member of they owne, that they will take all the time in the world to get to them, as they did for J.D. When u are called on emergency its to save a life, its mean u got to get there as fast as possible, but u did not care, it was no famely of urs, what geos arround comes arround, that boy life was deppending on u, the ambullance crew, but ur job was baddly done, TOO LATE, TO SLOW, DONT CARE, u dont want to do the job of saving other peoples lifes, then get to hell out of the people job, give it to soemeone who love human like them selfs, not to ANIMALS like u, God will judge u in his time, i will pray for JUSTICE!!!

i agree with ( coursin in shock and morning). if these kids what to be consider as men,its high time that they live the confort zone of the homes and islands and visit Afghanistan and iran to see what is is all about to kill for good cause. i find that the youth of sxm has no idea what it is to suffer.....
i really do not no what else to say and what to think. we consider sxm to be the friendly but i think its high time to turn this around and rename it as..." the free island" . i said so becasue only in a free country all these killin and fighting usually taking place. its high time that our governement take action into their hands..... i fins that these foolishness need to cease.
i m a student studying at Grambling State University in LOUISIANA, and planning to study Criminal Justice after my Bachelors degree, and planningt to come back to sxm and offer my service in help stoping these crimes on the island. i will inforse the exicution porcess by hanging these killers and lettin them know ....(its good for peter.... its also good for paul) . the governement is to soft on their jobs. they need to tighteen up they belts and start doing somethign positive for the island.
every time i read the new of sxm in the computer. its breaks my heart to see whats happening. its sad. certain students really do not want to come back to their own country because of the amount of crime rate..... but i will be back, n i hope in getting a job as a secret agent and i can bet u'll things will come in other slowly but surely.
I also have another point.... we want persons to speak up and say what they witness... but who will protect them if the killer knows who denounce them? huh??? thats another problem we have to consider... who will be the one protecting this young girl and her family?????? St Martiners we have to do something and do it quickly.

i extend sympathy to the Richardson's family and the Moris family. and i do hope that justice will be done...
God Bless.

Nobody does anything in the interest of sxm anymore not even our politicians, not even l' état should people in sxm know. The more we kill off eachother the better for them, already we are a minority but the facts is we saint martiners are an endangered species and we are killing eachother while others harmonizing between themselves.
We need to stop blaming the law totally for what is unfolding in our country, the law is a fragile system that unfortunately doesn't evolve as quickly as crime, criminals are always 10 steps ahead of the law, until like in the movies a hero is born with the his only mission to irradicated all bad influence in sxm.

Woa!!! Now this is way too much ... "already determinted the two incidents are not related in any way" - Get real. Just read the comments posted yesterday to get the sense of how people on the island are thinking and feeling - and that was before the second incident. Either the entire family is skirting the wrong side of the law as a way of life, which is highly unlikely, or people or persons are out to exact revenge. What to expect now ?????

A very sad and unfortunate incident - both incidents - for both victims, both famillies, andthe perpretator - who has yet to have his day in court. SXMers - stop - STOP ... the island is way too small to withstand this kind of criminal activity - never mind on a now almost daily basis!

If these boys want to be gangsters why don't the worldwide goverment don't put themselves together and say since u guy's want to kill we will send u all to pakistan and afganistan where there is war so they can see what being gangsters is all about. They just killing out each others for no reason
if ur frustrated with the goverment all u boys and girls get together and sstand in front the collectivité and demand they help u all and not just keep truning they backs at u all.
Stand up for SXM, stop the sensless killing they took away muy cousin J.D. but there is a GOD above when the family will start praying that person has to confess, the ALMIGHTY WILL NOT LET IT GO LIKE THAT!!!!! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS!!!! What is SXM coming to? Where are we going with all these crime and gang stuff they bring from out there.
Being in gang is not SXM culture we always used to love one another, look out for each others. but now u even scared to say hello to them fellas on the road.

Well folks... this is an example of the fruits of babylon culture...christmas coming once again..time to buy your kids some toy guns in the store.and dont forget to get some of them violent zombie games for ya all nintendos. and wiiis..dont talk about wine in and wokkin up for carnival ..that should surely get yu daughters pregnant before they fifteen...you think some ashes on wednesday after jouvert might help to cool down the satanic culture we livin in???People we are creating a criminal society quite a few decades now..check every word from the prophets..we are going into tribulation time.and do you expect the blind to lead the blind??? Religion is a political money making racket.Colonialism is in full swing with a modern twist of the old wine.Bob marley prophesy but the vow on the heads of many is now merely a hairstyle and fashion. No man on this planet in this time can garantee a peace treaty...it,s all fake..not even the antichrist benedictus in rome or Obama the new driver of the garbagetruck called u s of A.. ...has the solution..it seems that the socalled high IQs on this planet all blinded by the false doctrine of mystery babylon the great!!! only the coming of the Lord will save this planet from self destruction through the wickedness of man...so my beloved sxm people...seek ye the Lord in spirit and in truth...not in a building on sunday but in your own corner .and read an old model king james version..(The new translations using a watery, catholic explanation) so that you can teach the children the truth because the blind cannot lead the blind..And Oh yeah..before I forget.. forget about the merry christmas cause Jesus was born somewhere around the first week in October?you guys blaming only the collectivite??? my people we are misguided by a computer virus called..FORNICATION OF CHURCH & STATE (Babylan misphilosophy!!!)sxm govt need to set up a gun court like jamaica..any unlicensed firearm should put you behind bars for a decade..that wont stop crime but it wil surely slow it down!!!)
