10 still under investigation with indication --- Top Cop Carl John.
PHILIPSBURG:--- There have been some 19 murders committed within the past two years. Ten were committed in the year 2014 while nine intentional murders were committed so far this year, while two robbers were shot during the early morning attempted robbery of the PANAMERICAN armored truck in Cay Hill, the two latter police ruled them as self-defense said Chief Commissioner of Police Carl John.
Of the 19 murders committed within the past two years John said that nine of the cases were solved while the other 10 are still under investigation, with possible indication.
The top cop did not say exactly how many of the murders committed in 2014 were solved neither he did not say how many of those committed in 2015 were solved.
Over the past months there has been a drastic increase in violent crimes, most of the 9 murders committed thus far this year appears to be gang related. Within the most recent months at least three men were shot to death. One was shot in Simpson Bay, one at Teke Teke Bar and the other on Monday night in Middle Region. There have been other murders including the broad daylight murder of bike patrol Gamali Benjamin.
