Roberto Gumbs shot dead on Middle Region Road (UPDATED)

robertogumbs25112015PHILIPSBURG:---- A well- known young man identified as Roberto Gumbs was shot dead around 8:45pm Tuesday night. According to information reaching SMN News Gumbs who is also well known to police just recently got out of prison. It is understood that Gumbs was shot dead under the Tamarind tree in Middle Region. Information reaching SMN News states that a vehicle drove up to Gumbs and fired shots at him killing him on the spot. Residents of Middle Region described the victim as someone that is always into problems with the law. They said the victim even lost one of his arm in a fight in the Dominican Republic. One resident said that the victim was always in problems, the most recent crime he committed and was  convicted for  was for the kidnapping of a Palestian man who managed to escape from him in Cole Bay some years ago. 
Chief of Police Carl John confirmed that someone was shot dead at 8:55pm in Middle Region. The top cop said that the suspect is still at large while the investigation into the fatal shooting is in its initial stages.

Man shot and killed in Middle Region
The Police Department is presently investigating a shooting on Middle Region road which took place on Tuesday November 24th at approximately 09.00 p.m. leaving one person dead. The call came into the Emergency Dispatch Center who immediately directed police patrols to investigate what had taken place. On the scene the investigating officers encountered man lying on the ground bleeding from several gunshot wounds and who was not showing any signs of life. The paramedics arrived on the scene, but they were unsuccessful saving the victims life.
The victim has been identified as R.G. and is well-known by the police. The crime scene was immediately closed off and traffic on Middle Region road was diverted. The Detectives and Forensic Department arrived shortly after and started talking to witnesses and collecting evidence. Dr. Douglas also arrived on the scene and pronounced the death of the victim.
The investigation is in its preliminary stage and it is still unclear what exactly happen, why and who the person or persons are that are responsible for this act.
