Will Raphael Boasman pass the screening to become the next Labor Minister?

raphaelboasman28072015PHILIPSBURG: --- There is tension in the air when it comes to the screening of Rafael Boasman the candidate that was selected by Member of Parliament Cornelius de Weever to become the next Minister of Labor. Some political pundits said that they believe that Boasman’s affiliation to former Minister Maria Buncamper- Molanus and her husband Claudius Buncamper will definitely play a major role during the screening progress especially since he was Buncamper Molanus campaign manager. Another issue that was raised is the fact that Boasman was and still is a member of the Supervisory Board of TELEM while it is a clear conflict of interest since Boasman was the Head of the Labor Department before becoming the policy advisor and acting labor mediator.
Raphael Boasman already secured contracts in the BES islands a labor mediator while he requested a business license to operate his consultancy company on St. Maarten and the other countries within the Kingdom. That license has been approved last week.
Questions are now being raised as to whether Boasman who already accepted to become the next labor Minister should risk failing the screening process while he has contracts with the BES islands to represent those islands.
SMN News tried reaching Boasman on Sunday for an official statement as to whether or not he submitted his documents for the screening and if weighed the pros and cons properly prior to accepting the offer made by MP Cornelius de Weever but Boasman did not respond to the phone calls made to him.
