Student School Identification card to be introduced

schoolidentification2405201PHILIPSBURG:--- The school boards and school managers for the secondary schools on the Dutch Side of the island and the Community Police Officer for the Sint Peters and Reward Districts inspector Felix Richards have been holding discussions regarding the introduction of a student identification card for all students attending secondary school and the implementation of the policy into the rule book of each school.
The introduction of this school identification card which the student will wear as part of their uniform will allow the authorities to easily identify the student by the picture on the identification card, the full name of the student, the school he or she attends and the area where the student lives. It will also help authorities to enforce the laws on compulsory education and monitor the where about of these students. The student will have to carry this identification card with him or her at all time during school hours and during other school activities.
The Honorable Minister of Education Mrs. Rita Bourne-Gumbs recently sat in at one of these meetings and was fully informed about this ongoing project. The minister was quite impressed with the initiative and effort that was put into this project and is giving her full support in making this project a success.
