PHILIPSBURG:--- Kooyman Megastore and utilities company NV GEBE announced today that they will be teaming up to perform an Energy Savings Demo intended to provide residents of St. Maarten with tips on how to conserve energy which may result in lower electricity costs.
This Free demo will take place on Saturday January 31st at the Kooyman Megastore between 10:00am – 1pm. The demo will feature a number of Kooyman energy saving products and home appliances. Customers will get a chance to obtain information regarding the benefits of these products and the simple ways they may be implemented to conserve energy and water. NV GEBE will be on hand providing customers with detailed information regarding NV GEBE operations, emerging technologies and various ways on how customers can conserve energy at home by making simple adjustments to their daily routines.
"We are a long standing retailer of energy and water conservation products, in segments such as lighting, builders' hardware, plumbing and electrical cabling technologies, with the support of NV GEBE we would like to further promote easy tips and adjustments to achieve these savings," said Evencia Carty-Seabrookes, Commercial Officer of Kooyman. "There is now an energy efficient alternative for almost every kind of appliance or light fixture. That means that consumers have a real choice and the power to change their energy use".
As the utility company for St. Maarten GEBE has the responsibility of serving the communities in the best possible manner while taking safety and the environment into account. "The easiest way to reduce energy is to use the free energy around you such as sun and wind. Install clothing lines to dry your clothes. When these options are not possible, and you have to use electrical energy, there are simple actions to reduce the amount of energy you consume," said Paula T. Gordon, Corporate Communication Officer of NV GEBE. "Saving energy will not only save you money on your electric bill, but it will also help to save the environment and reduce emissions that are causing global warming, this may all start with simply changing your light bulbs to a compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL). With this energy saving bulb will you save less each year as it uses 75% less energy and lasts about ten times longer than an incandescent bulb".
