Rotary Supports USM Students.

rotarysxmsunrisedonatestousmstudents21122014PHILIPSBURG:--- President Virginia Asin of the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise presented a check to second year students of the University of St. Martin (USM) hospitality and tourism management program during g their recent club meeting. According to Ms. Morissa Nicholas, who accompanied the students, the funds are to be used by the second year students for the execution of a school assignment. The students explained to the members of Rotary Sunrise that for their assignment they chose to organize and execute an event to host a banquet for 50 indigent children.

President Virginia said that she knows that this is a big undertaking and that the Club was happy to support when they received the request from the students. This assigment perfectly fits the spirit of Rotary and the theme for this Year which is Light up Rotary. With this donation Rotary Sunrise lights up the hearts and helps to make 50 children's lives brighter for the season who may not have had the opportunity to enjoy such an event. The club feels fortunate to, with the promotion of excellence, also contribute to these college students in the pursuit of their degree and wish them much success in the execution of this event.

The club meets at Carl & Sons Pondill every Tuesday morning at 7:00am for fellowship and breakfast.
