Funding possibilities for small NGO projects still open for 2014.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Foundation Cooperative Funds (Samenwerkende Fondsen) assists NGOs by providing funds for social and community based projects.
On an annual basis Cooperating Foundations give together a considerable amount of grants to the six Dutch Caribbean islands. They focus on project proposals which target "vulnerable" groups in the society, youth and children, the disabled, the elderly and are committed to help social initiatives in the areas of community binding, cohesion, participation in society, health and care.
Project proposals may vary in size, amount and scope. Besides the regular larger projects, Cooperating Foundations also offers the opportunity for small funding requests, called Mini-Grants.
For those organizations that are new to Cooperative Funds or those who have small social projects, there is the opportunity to apply for a mini-grant to the maximum amount of Naf. 5,000 before December 13th 2014. This type of grant allows for a fast project approval and therefore early start of the project. Senior citizens organizations, youth organiziations, after-school programs and community centers are just a selection of the organizations which are encouraged to apply for these mini-grants. Organizations which intend to apply must be officially established and be registered at the Chamber of Commerce.
Airline tickets to attend tournaments/conferences, funds for research, church related requests are examples of items for which no funding is available. The project funds need to be in line with the objectives of Cooperating Foundations, which is to create social cohesion in the local community and improve life of its citizens.
For additional information, NGOs can contact Jose Sommers at 556 0808 / 581 5050 (email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). A special application form for mini-grants will be sent to you on your request. More general information and application forms for regular grants can be found on the website: www.samenwerkendefondsen.org.
