WBA & Motorworld and Jeep Presents Ladies Basketball Championship Week 5 Round Up.

The first game of the weekend on Saturday was between Thunderz and Learning Unlimited and was never close. The Thunderz lead after the first quarter 25-6 and won the game 88-21. The Thunderz was lead by the trio of Joyettte Lloyd with 28 Points, 16 Rbs, 2 Assists & 6 Stls, Tiana "Poopsie" Lionel with 24 Pts, 19 Rbs, 4 Asts, 6 steals and Chantel Hodge with 22 points, 11 Rbs, 11 Stls and 6 Assists. The Learning Unlimited was lead by Rachadel deGroot with 8 points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Steals and Jakisha Brooks with 6 Points, 17 Rbs, 2 Asts, 5 Steals,5 Blocks. The Motorworld Player of the Game went to Joyette Lloyd of Thunderz for impacting the game from the tip and had 18 points in the first half, rebounded well for second chance points and hustled on defense.

Games continued on Sunday at Melford Hazel with Claudia Fleming having another exciting game as she led her team Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls to 57-25 victory over the Bush Tea Remedy. Fleming had 28 Points, 7 Rbs, 5 Assists, 4 Steals and was supported by Wendy Jack with 10 Points, 8 Rbs, 5 Assists, 6 Steals and Shama Flurton with 9 Points, 11 Rebounds. Bush Tea was lead by Nasmarie Doran with 7 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 2 Steals followed by Keri Hyman with 6 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 3 Steals and Cardillia Nicholas who had a big rebounding game with 15 Rbs. The Motorworld Player of the game went to Claudia Fleming once again for being the difference maker in the game to keep her team undefeated in the tournament.

Lightning played the second game on Sunday against Thunderz and got to repay Thunderz for their lost to them a few weeks ago and give the Thunderz their first loss of the season. Saying the game was intense will be a understatement, from the tip both teams played top notch defense and was not giving up a inch. The Thunderz lead at the half 20-17 and 26-25 after the third. The Lighting team turned up the defense and held the Thunderz to 5 points in the fourth quarter while scoring 16 to break open the close game and get the win. The Lightning team was lead by the dynamic Jamaiah Newton -Herbert who had 25 Pts, 14 Rbs, 5 Steals, 2 Blocks and supported by Kayla Robinson with 6 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Assist. The Thunderz was lead by the duo of Chantel Hodge with 11 Pts, 2 Rbs, 3 Assts, 2 Stls and Salammbo Guibert-Soutade with 10 Pts, 5 Steals. Jamaiah Netwon-Herbert dominated the game and was then named Motorworld Player Of The Game for the second time this season.

Games continue this weekend on Saturday 6pm as Learning Unlimited face off against Lightning for the first time this season. Sunday games continue at 3pm as Bush Tea Remedy play against Thunderz and at 5pm Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls VS Learning Unlimited.
