Cole Bay Shooting Leaves Young St. Maartener Dead. (UPDATED)

COLE BAY:--- A shooting that took place around 8pm Monday night on Waterfront Road, Cole Bay has left a local young man dead. Information reaching SMN News states that police were called to the scene where they found the lifeless body of Jean-No Sanon (26). Sannon was born on St. Maarten, he is also a  Dutch national of Haitian decent. SMN News learnt that the victim lives somewhere in the Cul de Sac area. Details on this latest murder is still to be released by KPSM. The police department is busy investigating its 11th murder for the year 2014.

Man shot dead in Cole Bay.

On Monday October 27th at approximately 8:15 p.m. several police patrols, detectives and paramedics were sent to Waterfront Road in Cole Bay to investigate a shooting. According to witnesses in the area they heard a loud noise on the street, which sounded like a gunshot. When they looked outside they saw a man lying face down on the ground in front of an apartment building on that same street. They also noticed that the man in question was bleeding. On the scene the investigating officers encountered the man lying on the ground and who was not showing any signs of life. The victim was shot. The scene was closed of by the police so that the Forensic Department could collect evidence. Doctor Douglas arrived on the scene and pronounced the death of the victim. It is still unclear exactly what took place and who the ones are that are responsible for this criminal act. Detectives are busy questioning potential witnesses and gathering other information to piece together what transpired at that location. The body of the victim has been confiscated for further investigation and transported to a morgue. The victims name is Jean-No Sanon (26). The police department is asking anyone in the community who may have information that could shed some light on this case to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
