Police Busy Investigating Dutch Quarter Drive-By Shooting --- Victim flown out for further medical treatment.

shootingfillin11102012DUTCH QUARTER:--- The detective department of KPSM is busy investigating a drive by shooting that took place on Thursday night around 11pm in the vicinity of Gibs Drive, Dutch Quarter. Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson said that based on information he gathered at the scene a young man identified as Samuel Brown aka Ronny from Union Farm was riding his bicycle in the vicinity of Gibs Drive when a car pulled up and the occupant or occupants began firing shots at him. Henson said the young man received multiple gunshot wounds and his medical condition was quite serious.
The Police Spokesman said that the victim had to be flown to Colombia for further medical treatment. When asked if anyone was arrested in the latest shooting, Henson said that no one has been arrested but the detectives are working tirelessly to find the perpetrator or perpetrators of the crime. Henson said he is very concerned about the situation on St. Maarten because criminal activities have a tendency to spread. "Just last week there was a shootout in Curacao where people died and multiple persons were injured. There is a level of concern for me because we see planes are being shot down or crashed while on St. Maarten an excavator fell off of a trailer in Cole Bay causing severe traffic back up. Henson said one vehicle was damaged but no one was injured when the accident occurred. The Police Spokesman said that the trailer was transporting heavy equipment high day not taking into consideration the safety and security of other road users.
