nalogo24062014PHILIPSBURG:--- MP William Marlin, leader of the National Alliance, St. Maarten's largest and strongest political party said on Sunday evening that its supporters are prepared to come out on Monday morning to endorse the slate of candidates submitted on Friday afternoon.
Marlin said he wants to remind all supporters to be at the Census Office no later than 8:30am and remember to walk with a valid ID, either a Driver's License, a Passport or the Government issued Identification Card.
Endorsing the slate of the National Alliance is required by law in order for the party to contest the elections for a new Parliament for Sint Maarten.

Victory by the National Alliance in the August 29th, 2014 elections is Sint Maarten's best hope for political progress, Marlin said. The NA has always and will continue to always put the people of Sint Maarten first and the party is committed to a broad policy agenda that will ease the squeeze on low income households; leave money in the pockets of citizens and businesses; improve the standard of living for residents and enhance the Sint Maarten experience for both Sint Maartenrs and visitors to the island.

Marlin said on Sunday, that he is calling on the people of Sint Maarten to cast their election ballots for members of Team National Alliance, the political party that will stand up, speak out and fight for the issues that are important to the people of Sint Maarten.

The leader of the National Alliance said that too often the crime situation on the island is cause for serious concern. With two bank robberies in about two weeks people were becoming very worried about the safety on the island.

However, Marlin said the National Alliance wants to publicly commend the authorities for their swift action on Friday which resulted in the arrest of two robbers in record time. This certainly helps to bring a sense of security among the people, businesses and visitors alike.
