Former Oyster Bay Worker Calls on Prosecutor’s Office to do their Jobs --- Claims his signature was forged and subsidies for SZV and Tax were deducted from his salary but never paid.

OYSTER BAY:--- A former timeshare worker who was recruited from the United States to work for Oyster Bay Resort claims that the resort forged his signature when they submitted a labor contract to obtain a working permit for him.
Daniel Clicker told SMN News that when the contract was signed he was not even on St. Maarten, he further explained that Oyster Bay Resort was making deductions from his salary for SZV and taxes but none of it was turned over to government. Clicker said management of Oyster Bay Resort told him that his working documents for St. Maarten were in order prior to him arriving on the island. He said he had no knowledge of the contract that stated he was being paid over paid Naf. 2,500. The contract which he provided to SMN News is valid from December 15th, 2013 to December 14th, 2014. Clicker said when he realized what his employers were doing and he began digging to see what was happening, the management of Oyster Bay kicked him out and he was basically sleeping on the street. He said he was being paid less than $500 per month and at the time he was kicked out he was not able to rent a hotel or an apartment because he had no money. Clicker also provided SMN News with a police report he filed with the police and to date nothing has been done even though his employers forged his signature and took monies from his salaries and never turned them over to government.
He said after filing the police report KPSM turned over the case to the immigration department. "At the immigration department I met with one officer Thomas and I asked him not to have a particular person from the management of Oyster Bay Resort in a meeting we were supposed to have. On the day of the meeting the same person I asked not to be in the meeting was the only person at the meeting on behalf of the company, when I saw that I immediately thought something was fishy. Officer Thomas had the company pay for a one night hotel stay for me and a one way ticket back to the United States."
Clicker said that he called the Prosecutors Office on several occasions but the secretary refused to allow him to speak with any of the prosecutors. He alleged that someone for Oyster Bay Resort has connections at the Prosecutors Office and that is the reason they are refusing to prosecute.
Clicker said there are other foreign workers working at Oyster Bay Resort under the same conditions and he knew of at least one other person that was treated the same way he was treated. He further explained that the labor department granted him a lawyer who is currently working on his case, but so far he does not know when the case will go to court.
