October 15 Regular School and Business Day Operations.

GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- The 17th storm of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, Tropical Storm Rafael, has not caused any major damage to the school infrastructure.

Crews and contractors from the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Development, Environment and Infrastructure (MinVROMI), were busy on Sunday clearing small debris and removed sand from different parts of the road network to ensure a regular day of school and business operations on Monday.

MinVROMI, the Fire Department and the Office of Disaster Management did not receive any reports on Sunday with respect to challenges at the island's schools.

Monday will be a regular school day.

TS Rafael moved away from the country late Saturday night into Sunday morning. The Meteorological Department of Curacao (MDC) reported on Sunday that the country could still experience some weather from the system such as light rain showers on Monday.

The Office of Disaster Management would like to thank Emergency Support Functions and the populace for being vigilant with respect to the passing of TS Rafael on Saturday evening into Sunday.
