PHILIPSBURG:--- Upon invitation of SPIES, one of the largest Danish Tour Operators in Denmark, the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau participated in a Road Show from June 11 to 13, throughout Denmark to present the island to the Sales Staff of SPIES.
As SPIES recently started selling the destination, this was the ideal opportunity to present the island and train the sales agents about what Sint Maarten as a premier tourist destination has to offer visitors.
Bart Schüller from the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau in the Netherlands was joined by Heleen Bruggeman from the Sonesta Sint Maarten and Sander Langeveld from Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa. Together they gave a comprehensive introduction on Sint Maarten.
The presentation was given in small groups with sufficient time to go into detail allowing for a good interaction between sales staff and representatives from Sint Maarten. The interests was great and the sales agents asked many questions, demonstrating the eagerness of the sales staff to really get a complete picture about the 'Friendly Island' destination, so they can advise SPIES clients accordingly.
The Road Show took the St. Maarten delegation to Copenhagen, Aarhus and Esbjerg, and all participants were awarded with a 'St. Maarten Specialist' certificate to put on their desk. SPIES is part of the Thomas Cook Nordic Group.
